Bed Bugs are nasty, why cant we use DDT and other strong pesticides to eliminate them?? Nothing else works.?

Right now we have an epidemic on our hands, im afraid to stay at any hotel, I keep hearing all these horror stories about bed bugs
They say that in the past when they used powerful pesticides it knocked the bed bugs dead, but not now since they are using stuff that is non toxic

You can’t get them to go away because there are way to many.

There are probably more strict rules now as to what they can use, because it may pose a healthy threat. As we become more advanced, so do the limitations.

There are bed bugs and then there are bed bugs: Normal bed bugs dine on shedded skin cells and leave most humans alone. Everyone has them, even at home. It is the really horrible ‘bugs’ like crabs, that infest beds that give people problems. These can be controlled with proper hygine changing linens between guests, etc. If you do not trust your hotel, change hotels. If you don’t trust ANY hotels, bring your own linens.

You do NOT want to use strong pesticides on your mattress as this is NOT good for YOU.

There is a great little film called "The Secret Life at 118 Green Street" that you should see. It shows you all the neat little "beasties" that you live with in the cleanest of homes.

You are crawling ‘alive’ with millions of bacteria; your carpets, upholstery, beds, curtains, walls, etc. contain all kids of critters you do not see when you look at them. Bed bugs are a fact of life. Fleas and head lice are not!

DDT is responsible for killing off bald eagles and peregrine falcons. The only reason these birds are around in the U.S. today is that we cut back on using DDT

DDT is extremely toxic and hazardous…to everything and everyone. Besides it’s possible anything will become immune to that eventually as they do to everything else. You can’t keep poisoning the planet that way.

Don’t stay in cheap hotels.
