Bed Bugs Treatment
Treatment For Bed Bugs.
You may first realize that you need bed bugs treatment when you start to notice bites on your body. These bed bugs bites will resemble swollen red spots and be itchy and painful. Sometimes this bed bug rash can become infected, but the problem for you is easily resolved via a prescription from your doctor.
It is now essential that you take immediate action to get the bed bugs infestation under control.
First of all check your mattress for rusty red colored bugs, paying special attention to any folds or seams where they can hide. If there are any holes in your mattress then you will need to check inside it.
Also check around the bedroom where the bed bugs can hide during the day – look for faecal marks. There could also be spots of blood on your mattress or sheets.
If it is a major bed bugs infestation you will notice a very strong pungent smell, somewhat similar to rotten raspberries.
Probably the most effective treatment for bed bugs is to use a specially created bed bugs insecticide. These products can be extremely dangerous so great care must be taken, especially around children and pets. You must follow the exact instructions from the manufacturer!
But before you carry out your bed bugs treatment, you should first ensure that the room is thoroughly cleaned:
a) Strip away all bedding and soft furnishings and pop them safely into a large sealed plastic bag. This will prevent the bed bugs infestation spreading to another room.
b) Wash all items at a high temperature. If any items cannot be washed at a high temperature, then pop them into a tumble drier on a high setting for about 10 minutes.
c) Items that can’t be washed at a high temperature or placed into the tumble drier must be placed into sealed plastic bags and discarded.
d) Where possible, take furniture outside and give it a thorough cleaning with your vacuum cleaner. Leave the furniture outside in really hot or cold weather as this will also help with killing bedbugs.
e) Now vacuum the bedroom and the mattress. Discard the vacuum bag in a plastic sealed bag.
f) Clean everywhere as thoroughly as possibly, including behind radiators, picture frames, etc.
g) Ensure that you get rid of any books, newspapers, or magazines that may be lying around as bed bugs will hide everywhere until they come out on a night time. Seal the items up carefully in a plastic bag.
h) When every single thing in your room has been meticulously cleaned, then you can start the treatment for bed bugs by carefully following the manufacturer’s instructions.
